# Submit Business

> Submit legal company details

**Endpoint:** `PUT /v1/applications/{application_id}/business`  
**Access:** Paid plan required (scope `applications:write`)  
**MCP tool:** `submit_business_details`

Applicant authority: email at the domain, or `authority_attested: true` (the issuer verifies too).

## Parameters

| `application_id` (path, required) | `string (uuid)` | Application id. |
| `VI-Environment` (header) | `string` | `live` (default) or `test`. Used for anonymous callers and OAuth access tokens; API keys and web sessions carry their own environment. |

| `legal_name` *(required)* | `string` | The company's exact legal name, as registered. |

`unauthenticated` — sign in / send a valid credential. `next_action.kind = sign_in`.

### 402 (payment_required)

`payment_required` — this step needs a paid plan. `next_action.kind = checkout`.

### 403 (insufficient_scope)

`forbidden` / `insufficient_scope` — the credential lacks permission.

### 404 (not_found)

`not_found` — doesn't exist or isn't accessible to you (never 403).

`unprocessable` / `blocked_provider` — understood but can't be done (plain-English reason).

### 429 (rate_limited)

`rate_limited` — retry after `Retry-After` seconds (`details.retry_after_seconds`). `limit_reached` — a quota is used up; `details.limit` names it and `next_action` offers support.
